The Bismarck

De Bismarck was een Duits slagschip dat in 1939 te water werd gelaten en in de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd ingezet. Samen met haar zusterschip de Tirpitz maakte het slagschip deel uit van admiraal Erich Raeders Z-Plan, de blauwdruk voor de herbouw van de Duitse Kriegsmarine. Het derde zusterschip, de Hindenburg, werd nooit voltooid.[bron?] De Bismarck was genoemd naar de beroemde staatsman Otto von Bismarck.
